Arêches-Beaufort is first and foremost two thousand-year-old villages with authentic charm and steeped in history in the heart of Beaufortain.

The village resort of Arêches-Beaufort is characterized by traditional mountain architecture and grandiose landscapes. Inhabited territories merge with large preserved spaces, green and wooded slopes, alpine meadows and flower meadows. Arêches-Beaufort is part of “Land of Art and History of the High Valleys of Savoy” since 2006 for its actions to promote heritage and raise awareness of architecture. And this approach concerns the built heritage as much as the natural, economic heritage or even the memory of the inhabitants.

Thanks to the free application “Empreinte des Grandes Alpes“, take advantage of your stay to go on the Arêches-Beaufort trails and discover the territories and heritage of Beaufortain. You will live a unique experience by discovering the landscapes of yesteryear in augmented reality. Let yourself be told the story of the country by those who have lived it.

The authenticity of the resort lies in its natural environment but also in the characteristic architecture of its thousand-year-old villages. The houses were built there to adapt to the natural slope of the place and to the needs of the farmers. They are on 2 or 3 levels. The lowest part in stone was reserved for cattle, above was the human habitat, still hard, and the upper part in spruce planks was used to store hay. These houses are today living houses which have kept their original architecture which makes the charm of the resort. The new habitats respect the harmony of this architecture
typically Beaufortaine.
