Arêches-Beaufort has brought together high-level athletes, as talented as they are accessible, in a team. They are the resort's ambassadors on international races on which they have built impressive records.

Axelle Gachet-Mollaret - Ski mountaineering
World team champion, combined world champion, triple European champion, winner of the Pierra Menta… We can’t count them anymore…
Her track record is impressive! A young mother, Axelle turns everything she touches into gold. She discovered this discipline with her parents in the Aravis massif. Today, it is in Beaufortain that she has decided to settle with her partner Xavier Gachet. Together, they scour the ski mountaineering routes and know the Arêches-Beaufort area like the back of their hand. An advantage that allowed her to win the Pierra Menta twice (2016 and 2018). In 2021, she had an exceptional season, winning all the races she took part in (except one, with 3rd place in the Pierra Menta 2021) and "logically" winning the Crystal Globe, the general classification of the World Cup. Return to competition in 2024, winning with a new Pierra Menta to her record in a duo with Emily Harrop.

Xavier Gachet - Ski mountaineering
World Championship medalist – winner of the Pierra Menta 2024 and the Pierra Menta Summer 2024
Originally from Beaufortain, Xavier fell into ski mountaineering from a very early age. In fact, he was only a few months old when his father won the 7 meters of the 000rd edition of the Pierra-Menta. He is a ski mountaineering fanatic who never misses a Pierra Menta. Xavier catches the "bug" and has only one ambition: to ski in his father's footsteps! Since then, he has achieved numerous podiums in the World Cup and on the Pierra Menta! He reached the Grail in 3 with his first victory on the Pierra Menta with his buddy William Bon Mardion. He repeated the feat on the summer version of the Pierra Menta with an authoritative victory in a duo with Pierre-François Gachet.
William Bon Mardion - Ski mountaineering
Individual and team world champion, French champion, winner of the Pierra Menta 2013 and 2024
Discreet and passionate, this local boy is nonetheless a formidable competitor. He has been crowned world champion several times in the most feared events on the circuit and won the Pierra Menta in 2013. He faces fierce competition, particularly from Italian athletes. This does not prevent him from aiming for the podiums, as evidenced by his return to the top of the box with Xavier Gachet during the last Pierra Menta in 2024. “Ski mountaineering has always given me pleasure. When you are up high, alone and you have access to landscapes of such beauty, you feel small, but also much stronger. Arêches-Beaufort, in this, offers me real happiness”. In summer, he welcomes you with Elise to the Refuge du Plan de la Lai, on the Tour du Beaufortain route.
