Beaufortain, a land of lakes and dams where water is omnipresent. Around ten lakes are easily accessible and offer multiple activities: kayaking*, stand-up paddle*, hiking, mountain biking, fishing.

The 10 lakes surrounding Arêches-Beaufort are ideal places for hiking and, above all, panoramic sites not to be missed under any circumstances: the 3 large lakes of the Roselend dams, Lake Saint-Guérin , Lake Gittaz , or even Lake des Fées , Tournant and Mirantin with its adorable little chalet… easily accessible by hiking for the whole family from the youngest to the oldest.
Lake Roselend and its turquoise waters
The Roselend Dam , situated at an altitude of 1,600 meters, is known for being the most aesthetically pleasing dam in Savoy. Its turquoise lake evokes the waters of the Pacific , impassive herds of Tarine cattle graze nearby, and numerous peaks can be seen from its waters: Roc du Vent, Aiguille du Grand Fond, La Pierra Menta…
The shores of the lake offer very good departures for hiking or cycling. The "Tour de Roselend" for example allows you to discover the local flora and fauna for a walk of about 4 hours and 900 m of vertical drop.
Lake Saint-Guérin and its Himalayan footbridge
The Saint-Guérin dam , situated at an altitude of 1,557 meters, is very popular with walkers for its spectacular scenery. The lake features a pedestrian path and an 83-meter-long Himalayan footbridge that connects the two banks. It soars over the lake from a height of more than 20 meters! The walk is perfect for families and offers a relaxing experience. The structure, built in 2011, is accessible to everyone (families with young children or strollers, and people with reduced mobility when accompanied).
Numerous water sports are also available, including canoeing, kayaking, and stand-up paddleboarding . Please note that only the activities offered by the canoe and paddleboard rental company located on site are permitted. Any independent activity on the lake is prohibited.

Two fun trails were also inaugurated in 2015 around the Saint-Guérin dam. These Savoyard Discovery Walks (Savoie Label) allow children aged 6-8 to discover the water cycle (game kit available at the Tourist Office), and those over 12 are immersed in 1957 during the construction of the dam to help the EDF engineer in charge of the project, thanks to the Empreinte des Grandes Alpes application.
The Nature shuttles provide free access to Saint-Guérin without needing a car. Three round trips per day connect Beaufort to the lake. Find the timetable here.
The Marcôt lake and its leisure center
In addition to being a pleasant fishing spot, the Marcôt lake has given rise to a leisure center offering a variety of recreational activities . You can picnic by its magnificent mountain pond, sunbathe on its grassy beach, take a nap in the shade of the trees, or embark on its orienteering course for a 1.5-hour walk around the lake in search of 20 markers to find using a special map.
The JAG Aqua Park , an inflatable water playground, is open to everyone aged 6 and up. It features around forty modules including obstacle courses, a slide, a climbing wall on the water, a catapult, and much more. This giant water playground offers a variety of features: a sports loop, a fun loop, a family platform, an Ice Tower, and more. Balance, fun, exercise, and plenty of laughs are guaranteed for the whole family!
