The Gittaz dam, built between 1962 and 1967 can store 13 million m3 of water, its "arched weight" structure with a triangular base uses its own weight to resist the force of the water.

Surface of the body of water 39.3 ha, depth 65m, length 164m. The spillway in the shape of a ski jump is one of André Coyne's many innovations. The dam receives the Gittaz torrent and the water collected by the Sallestet outlets, which are directly directed by a 2 km gallery in Lake Roselend.

Please note, swimming and any independent water activity on Lake Gittaz are strictly prohibited.
