At an altitude of 1557m, discover Lake Saint-Guérin in Arêches-Beaufort with a beautiful view of the mountain pastures. A comfortable, family-friendly walk awaits you. An unusual and wild setting for a breath of fresh air!

The site of Saint Guérin refers to the patron saint of flocks. Before the dam was built, mountain pastures occupied a large part of this territory. There are still many of them all around, as far as the Cormet d'Arêches.
A Savoyard Discovery Walk runs along the right bank of the lake (accessible to accompanied people with reduced mobility) to a Himalayan footbridge and continues along the lakeshore. Crossing the Saint-Guérin dam by car is prohibited.
Its water surface area is 50 ha and its depth is 70 m for a capacity of 13 million m3.
Its thin vault-shaped structure measures 250 m in length.
It receives the equivalent of twice its storage capacity each year.

This site is very popular with our visitors, so for your comfort, we encourage you to take the free shuttle bus from Arêches in July and August, or use an electric bike. If you prefer, we recommend visiting in the late afternoon to avoid the peak crowds.
