Le Cormet de Roselend is a col located at an altitude of 1968 m, the starting point for magnificent hikes and providing access by road to the Chapieux and Tarentaise valleys. Cormet comes from the word Culmen in Latin which means summit.

The Cormet de Roselend is open from the end of May to mid-October. From there, beautiful hikes of all levels begin. A large herd of Tarine cows also occupy this area during the summer. The Cormet de Roselend is also known for having been crossed very often by the Tour de France cycling race, as well as by many cycle tourists, motorcyclists, and vintage cars. On the Route des Grandes Alpes, after Lac de Roselend, it is a preserved site, surrounded by mountain pastures and full of history.
